Back in 2024 I learned about SDF (signed distance field) rendering of fonts. I was trying to implement outlines and shadows in a single pass instead of drawing over the text multiple times in different styles. I intended to use these fonts for two different projects, a game and a map generator. I got things working but didn’t fully understand why certain things worked or didn’t work. I wrote some notes on my site about what I tried. In the end, I stopped working on both the game’s fonts and the map generator, so I put all of this on hold.
I built Engramma to explore better approaches for design systems and improves the experience of working with them. It’s very much a work in progress with only a handful of users, so this warning felt especially surreal.

Access to Supabase has been inconsistent in India over the past several days, with the San Francisco-based company acknowledging the issue in posts on social media starting Wednesday. While the restrictions were first reported by Supabase on Reliance Industries’ JioFiber network, users have since flagged similar problems across multiple internet providers and telecom networks. In one post on Friday, Supabase tagged India’s IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, asking him to intervene and restore access, though the company later removed the message and said in a subsequent update that the site remained blocked for many users in the country.
